St. Joseph's Institute of Management Bangalore Hostel Fees: Rooms, Food & Rules

Earlier the hostel was inside the campus but due to major increase in the number of students, they have adopted a boy’s hostel at some distance from the institute. The girl’s hostel is inside the campus and is little strict than the boy’s hostel. The boy’s hostel was great as it served all kind of foods. Even the hostel campus had a separate library, relaxation areas, and most importantly free from the honking. Bangalore is equally crowded as Kolkata but at least after certain hours, one can breathe easy. So, at hostels I was able to breathe easy as all students demand such as good food and clean rooms were provided by the college.Read Full Review

SJIM has 2 boys and 1 girls hostel which is just one and a half mile away from the campus. A girls hostel now is at the campus as it was getting ready during the year we passed out. Hostel rooms were ok types as double sharing rooms didn’t have attached washrooms and there were common washrooms on each floor of the hostel buildings. Only the single bed rooms had attached washrooms but fees incresed from 80k per year to Rs. 1.3 lakhs per year for single bed room. Mess food was again ok but college is located in the heart of the city and fortunately I used to enough pocket money to go out for dinner with my friends. The in-time was 10 pm and that was reasonable as apart from late night movies we never had complaints regarding the in-time.Read Full Review

Hostel was not inside the campus but still it was strict. Warden would make sure that they see each girl in person by 9 pm. Sometimes we were allowed to hang out till 11 but warden has to be informed. Birthdays, parties and all happened as creating noise was not considered as havoc. Food to me was not that great because I loved it the first few weeks and then I mostly went out for my meals. With no offence to the hostel mess but I consumed rice once in a week and here rice is the staple food. Almost all the south Indian dishes are made of rice and thank God there were some students from Rajasthan and we made a group and tried various restaurants of Bangalore city. Security and all was quite good at the hostel and there were no restrictions on what we wear and therefore I loved my stay at the SJIM girls’ hostel.Read Full Review
