Doon University is situated in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, and it started its first academic sessions back in the year 2009. It was founded by the State Government of Uttarakhand and is recognized by the UG Council, and is one of the top educational institutions in Uttarakhand. The university has been rated by the NAAC with a "B++" grade in the year 2017.

Doon University offers various financial assistance aids, scholarships as well as fellowships to the students in the form of fee concessions. The students have to be eligible for a scholarship to be awarded with any of the following fee waivers. And students can only opt for a single scholarship at a single time; no student can opt for more than a single scholarship concurrently. The scholarships offered are:
It is awarded on the basis of financial need and academic merit, subject to annual performance reviews in accordance with established standards. With money donated by Shri Brijnandan Dangwal of Dehradun, the university established about 8–10 scholarships worth ₹3000 each month for deserving students of Doon University. According to the conclusion of the admissions procedure, the announcement of the deserving students is made.
It is awarded on the basis of financial condition, meritorious performance in academic studies, as well as good conduct of the student in the previous institution. It is also awarded to the students of odd semesters at the university. DUSAF is awarded for a year and then eligible students are considered again by the university.
The UGC awards numerous fellowships and scholarships to the deserving students each year. This is awarded basically to candidates who are pursuing their higher studies in universities and colleges; it is funded by the government. The students can simply apply for the scholarship through their institute if they are eligible for it to be awarded.
It is awarded to the candidates belonging to SC/ ST categories and should be a domicile of Uttarakhand, and then they are awarded with 50% fee concessions.
For the top 2 students scoring the highest marks in postgrad in Environmental Science and Economics are awarded with gold and silver medals.
A seat is reserved for the students from NCC 'C' certificate holders in the foreign language degree program at the university. This one seat is considered above the total intake of the course.

And the cell keeps in mind the increasing demand for career-related competencies that are more than technical in the industry. And in order to keep pace with a dynamic set of upcoming career opportunities, ever-growing challenges, and rapidly changing new skills required. The professionals of the cell keep organizing training programs for the students to prepare them for the placement procedures at the university. The cell organizes various seminars, workshops, as well as guest lectures for the training of students in various skills like soft skills, personality development, communication skills, and other such skills. They even organize sessions for the students to train them with resume preparation and mock PI. They even introduce students to the corporate culture through these workshops only. They organize GDs, HR interviews, and written tests on a regular basis for the students to prepare them properly.

Doon University has world-class facilities for its students along with exceptional infrastructure. It is situated 8 kilometers to the southeast of the Dehradun city center, on the right bank of the Rispna River, with the thick Sal woodland in the background. Its expansive complex covers an area of over 22 hectares. The university's campus is frequently cited as one of Uttarakhand's most picturesque green campuses. Central Library: The teaching and learning activities are greatly supported by the Central Library at the university. It serves as the primary source of curriculum-based information for students participating in educational activities across various Schools and Departments. For a wide range of university disciplines, the library provides a vast variety of resources in physical and digital formats. All printed papers are categorized using the DDC classification scheme and placed in subject-based classification order for quick retrieval. To facilitate speedy searching, various locations have been chosen for the detailed guide cards of the shelves and rows. Both CDs and print journals are organized according to accession numbers and alphabetically, respectively. There is a need-based collection of resources while taking into consideration the goals and pursuits of the university. Books, e-books, print journals, e-journals, online databases, educational CDs and DVDs, theses, dissertations, reports, etc. are some examples of these resources.
Hostel Facilities: On a first-come, first-served basis, separate dormitories are available on campus for boys and girls. The rules and regulations of the hostel must be followed by all students. The hostel building for boys is known as Shivalik Hostel and the hostel building for girls is known as Alaknanda Hostel.
Medical Facilities: The University provides with insurance of ₹1 lakh for each student studying over there and no charges for insurance are taken from the students. Upon the university doctor's suggestion, basic medications are made available. On-campus OPD services are available. Both the faculty lounge and hostels include first aid kits.
Sports Facilities: Sports facilities with separate playgrounds for volleyball, lawn tennis, badminton, football, basketball, and cricket are available at the university. Facilities for indoor games like badminton and table tennis are also available. Gymnasiums are also available in both the hostels.
ATM, Banking, and Post Office: ATMs of PNB and HDFC banks are available at the campus of Doon University. And the post office is also situated in the building along with faculty offices.
Doon University, a recognized public university situated in Dehradun, Uttarakhand happens to be a dedicated institute of higher studies.
