The School of Environment and Natural Resource (SENR) is the university’s flagship school of study founded in 2009. SENR admits students for the two-year M. Sc (environmental science) program that intends to impart students a solid grounding in environmental science and technology. The innovatively-designed curriculum incorporates the most recent advances and developments in the field of environmental science. The department earnestly strives to transform students into qualified professionals capable of tackling the environmental challenges in the 21st century.
M. Sc. (EVS) students make the most of the sophisticated instruments housed in the SENR’s advanced laboratory. Some of the instruments include Gas Chromatography, Ion Chromatograph, CHNS Analyzer, Mass Spectrometry, HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography), Anderson Cascade and so on. Students carry out research in the areas of forest ecology & biodiversity conservation, soil plant-microbe interactions, wastewater treatment, and solid waste management.
Applicants for this postgraduate course must be graduates in basic or applied sciences of a UGC-approved university, having achieved at least 50% marks in aggregate. Additionally, candidates have to clear the university’s entrance exam to guarantee admission.
The School of Media and Communication Studies offers the two-year M. A. (Media and Communication Studies) program that includes subjects like journalism, media studies, development communication, graphics & animation, public relations, and so on. The syllabus of the program which integrates the myriad aspects of media and communication judiciously balances the incorporation of practical and theoretical information.
The students become familiar with both theoretical and practical concepts pertaining to diverse streams of communication. The learners also receive hands-on training in all the relevant areas, thereby enabling them to become a specialist in the media and communication field. A candidate interested to study this program must be a graduate (any stream) of any university recognized by UGC. He or she must have scored a minimum of 50% marks in the final exam of the graduation course.
The 3-year MCA offered by the School of Technology aims to prepare students for the dynamic and ever-changing technological environment. The industry-oriented syllabus of MCA helps students to develop skills through classroom instructions, workshops, projects, seminars, and internships. The technology school focuses on the students’ professional development so that they acquire the skills necessary in their preferred segment of the IT industry.
The school’s IT Cell collaborates with IIT Bombay for providing web-based training on popular software including MySQL, PHP, Python, Java, C, and C++. Any student who wants to apply to this course must have graduated from a recognized university with mathematics at the graduate or 10 + 2 level. Also, he or she should have achieved 50% marks in aggregate in the final exam of his or her graduate studies.
The School of Social Sciences enlists students for the 2-year M.A. (Economics) course whose syllabus has been devised to foster creative and independent thinking. After completing this program, students gain the competence to find a lucrative job in the public or private sector. At the same time, their MA degree makes them eligible for pursuing higher studies and carrying out research in economics.
A student who has a graduate degree in commerce/social sciences of a UGC-approved university with minimum 50% marks can apply for this program.
