In the year 1996, Nehru Gram Bharati University was founded as Rajiv Gandhi Degree College and in 2000 it was upgraded to Rajiv Gandhi Post Graduate College. The UGC gave the status of Deemed to be University in 2008. It is accredited by NAAC.

The Cell conducts Career Guidance Programs for students from their first year in order to give them proper support and advice in choosing the right career for them.
