Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli or IIM Tiruchirappalli, is one among the twenty one IIMs in India. The foundation stone of the institute was laid by the Ministry of Education, Government of India on 4th January, 2011. Presently, the institute is working as an Autonomous University and is offering courses in Management.

IIM Tiruchirappalli provides PG, Diploma, M.Phil, and Research degrees. Post Graduate Program in Management (PGPM-MBA), Post Graduate Program in Management- Human Resources (PGPM-HR), Doctoral Program in Management (Ph.D), Executive Ph.D, Post Graduate Program in Management (PGPBM / Executive MBA) are the courses offered by the institute.
The admission criteria to shortlist the candidates for PGPM-MBA / PGPM-HR / PGPBM program in the institute are done in the following stages:
For admission to Doctorate courses, a candidate must possess a Master's degree or two years Post-graduate Diploma degree after three years Bachelor degree in any discipline with a score of at least 60%. Candidates with professional qualifications like CA/ CS / ICWA with a score of 50% in total and a score of 60% in the Bachelor exam are also eligible to apply for Ph.D programs. Students who have Integrated Bachelor degree with a score of 60% can also apply for Ph.D program.
Besides fulfilling the eligibility criteria, applicants must clear the area-level interview round for the final admission in the Ph.D program.

Students of IIMT can apply for scholarships funded by the Government of India like, Central Sector Scholarship of Top Class Education for ST students, Merit cum Means based Scholarship for students belonging to Minority Communities, PM Yasasvi Central Sector Scheme of Top Class Education In College For OBC, EBC and DNT Students, National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation Scholarship Scheme, etc.

Students are facilitated with “Lakshya” a guest lecture series which serves as a platform for students to interact with the companies where leading personalities of the business world showcase their business model to the students. IIM Tiruchirappalli campus covers more than 175 acres of land on Trichy-Pudukottai highway, which is nearly 11 kms from Tiruchirappalli International Airport. The permanent campus of the institute was inaugurated in 2017. The infrastructure of the campus was designed in a way to make it a self-sustained campus. Solar Power plant and Rain water harvesting has been built in the campus to ensure uninterrupted electric and water supply. The Academic blocks in the campus have classrooms of different seating capacity with two separate projectors in each classroom to display study materials.
