Guru Kashi University aka GKU was built by the Balaji Education Trust and recognised by UGC. In 1998, Guru Gobind Singh Polytechnic was founded and UG, PG programs were finally added. Guru Gobind Singh College of Engineering & Technology began operating in 2001, while Guru Gobind Singh College of Education opened its doors in 2005. The GGS College of Nursing along with IT and Research both started operating in 2006. Finally Guru Kashi University was founded in 2011 and since then, the institution has expanded and has been meeting the requirements of the local and national communities under the beauty of nature. To offer a single point of contact for all international students, they have a dedicated International Students Cell.
Due to its location in a rural region, the university is sensitive to agricultural needs and has launched a number of programs under the Agriculture College. It holds dual accreditation from the ICAR and PCAR. ICAR Accreditation for B.Sc. Agriculture (Hons) by GOI is exclusively granted to GKU University, the only private university in the Malwa region. It is a participant institution in the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and BCI has authorised and recognised all legal education programs. NCTE has approved all teacher education courses and Pharmacy Council of India recognises all pharmacy programs.
GGS College of Engineering and Technology, College of Education and University of Commerce & Management, Basic Sciences, Computer Applications are all part of the GKU Bathinda. Moreover, it has divisions including the University College of Agriculture, School of Law. GKU also includes the College of Physical Education, Pharmacy and Paramedical Sciences. More than 50 programmes at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels are offered by the university. It established the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) to oversee the university's quality standards.
Guru Kashi University developed an admissions department for the purpose of bridging the gap between students and academic programmes. DIPLOMA COURSES AFTER 10TH AND 12TH:
After 10th class, students can do a diploma of 3 years in health assistant, medical lab technology, physiotherapy, ME, CSE, EE, and hotel management.
After 12th class, students can go for 1 year’s diploma in fine arts, library science, and computer applications. Students can also go on to do 2 years of D.Pharma, and Diploma in Operation Theatre Technology. To pursue these 2 years courses in Pharma and OT technology students should be either from medical or non-medical fields.
UG COURSES AFTER 12TH/DIPLOMA:
B.Tech Courses: The duration is 4 years and applicants should have received a passing grade in 12th class in physics, math, and one of the following subjects: Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ CS/ Bio from any other recognised board. The college of engineering offers UG courses in Civil, CSE, EE, ME, and Petroleum.
Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Technology: If a candidate is looking to do 3 years of degree he/she should have a diploma in MLT and if anyone is looking to pursue 4 years degree they need to have 12th pass certificate in medical or non medical field.
B.Sc (Hons.) in agriculture: To do a 4 years degree in agriculture, 10+2 should have been done in non medical/ medical/ agriculture field. To do other B.Sc courses like 3 years of Fashion Technology, 3 years of B.Sc in IT, and 4 years of B.Sc in Hospitality & Hotel Management, students need to be 12th pass. For B.Sc in OT Technology which is of 4 years students must have done his/her 12th from the medical field. For BSc in Radiology and Bachelor of Pharmacy, both are of 4 years, applicants need to have 10+2 from medical/non medical field.
BA/BBA/BCA/Bachelor of Physical Education & Sports: Class XII or any equal exam should have been completed and passed in any stream or subject. For BBA+MBA, a 5 years integrated course, 12th is needed with at least 45% and 40% for candidates in the reserved category.
BA B.Ed/BSC B.Ed: It is a 4 years course and to enrol candidates should have been 12th passed from any stream for BA B.Ed and to do BSc B.Ed, need to have passed 12th in medical or non medical field.
BA LLB: 10+2 with 45%, 42% for OBC, and 40% for SC caste.
PG COURSES AFTER GRADUATION:
M.Tech Courses: Students must have an MCA, M.Sc. (Physics/Mathematics), M.Sc. (Computer Science), or M.Sc. IT or a B.Tech degree for the M.Tech course, with 50% or at least cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 5.5 on a scale of 10. Or the applicant should have passed the IETE graduate exam with 50%. The course duration is 2 years and students can do a master in Civil, CSE, Structure, and Transportation engineering.
Masters in MLT: A graduation degree is asked in the MLT field only.
LL.B & LL.M: To do a bachelor in law that is LLB a student should have passed his graduation in any field with 45% and 40% for other categories. To pursue a master in law that is LLM, candidates need to have LLB/BA LLB with minimum 55%.
MA/MSc/MSc in IT: A BA degree with the relevant subject is valid to do a master in arts in any subject. For MSc, Students should have done their graduation in B.Sc or any other degree with the relevant subject. For an MSc in Hospitality and Hotel Management, you need to have a BSc HHM degree with 55%.
M.Sc in Agronomy/Fruit or Vegetable Science/ Plant Pathology: A bachelor degree in the field of agriculture is asked along with an entrance exam.
Master in Yoga: A graduation degree is asked along with a yoga entrance test, a course of 2 years.
PhD COURSES AFTER PG:
Students can go on to do a 3 years doctoral program in the fields of Law, IT, Management, Agri Economics, Fruit Sciences, Vegetable Sciences, Engineering, Education, Humanities, Basic Sciences, and many more. A Postgraduate degree in the relevant subject/discipline with at least 55% grades or a CGPA of 6 is asked.
