Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo (MSCB) University was established in 1998. The State University was formerly known as North Orissa University (NOU). The University was carved out of Utkal University & became operational in 1999. It is approved by UGC. The MSCB University is recognised by BCI, NCTE, Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU). Also, the University is NAAC accredited.
Vision: The University envisions becoming a knowledge centre for providing education & training of global standards to the students. It aims to be a leading Institution among HEIs in imparting standard education to the students and groom them professionally by inculcating the values of social responsibility, morality, and competence in them.

Admission Process
Students can download the Admission Form from the official website of the University. For PG Programs, students must additionally fill the Common Application Form (CAF). The form is available at the official website of Student Academic Management System (SAMS).
Candidates must qualify the Common PG Entrance Test (CPET) conducted by the Odisha State Higher Education Council (OSHEC). If appearing for more than one subject in CPET, then they must fill the optional subjects in the CAF. A provisional rank list will be released. Following this, the students must provide the College / University preference and subjects opted. Students will further be allotted seats through centralised counseling process and various other selection criteria based on marks weightage.
* Additional weightage marks are awarded to the students who are NCC, NSS, Sports and Games, Rovers & Rangers achievers.
Documents Required
The students of Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University can avail scholarships from the State Government. The scholarships are provided based on their +2 and +3 merit scores in Arts / Commerce / Science disciplines. PG Merit Scholarship can be availed by the Postgraduate students from the State Government. The University also grants National Scholarships.

The Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University has a dedicated Career & Counselling Cell. It provides counseling to the students and assists them in choosing suitable career paths. It has strong associations with the HRs of various companies, employment agencies, and the Alumni association of the University. In collaboration with the aforementioned, the cell arranges on-campus MSCB University Placement interviews for the students. It also facilitates training opportunities for the students.
There is also a Training and Placement Cell. The Cell of the MSCB University Baripada provides vocational training and projects to the students in research organisations and companies.
