Central University of Kerala, Kasaragod established in 2009 is a Central University, currently having 151-200 position in NIRF Ranking 2024. Central University of Kerala Kasaragod is approved by UGC and UGC Section 2(f) & 12(B), and is accredited by NAAC-A. Central University of Kerala Kasaragod was set up in the year 2009 to provide quality education in multidisciplinary areas including Science, Humanities, and Management. The university is approved by UGC. Its headquarters is located at Periya.

The Central University of Kerala, Kasaragod was opened with only two post graduate programs. Currently, the university is providing degrees of twenty seven PG programs, and twenty two research programs. B.A in International Relations, Integrated B.Sc.B.Ed, Integrated B.A.B.Ed, Integrated B.Com.B.Ed, M.A, MSW, M.Ed, M.Sc, LL.M, MBA, M.Com, MPH, etc are the degrees awarded by the university. Admissions to all the courses in the university except MBA are based on the marks scored by the applicants in the qualifying exam. Additionally, reservation criteria are followed by the university while admitting students. Note: 5% relaxations in the minimum eligible marks are given to SC / ST applicants in all UG and PG courses. Relaxation criteria for Integrated UG programs are as per the Government of India rules prescribed from time to time.

The Central Placement Cell (CPC) of the university works jointly with the Department Placement Cells (DPC) and Student Placement Coordinators (SPOs) to find better job opportunities for the university graduates. To make its students ready for the corporate world, it organises training programs which develop their career skills and soft skills. It arranges industrial visits, group discussions, and many more activities. It bridges the gap between potential recruiters and job seekers by facilitating departments to enter into MoUs. The CPC facilitates Campus Placement activities and invites companies to visit the campus to recruit qualified candidates.
When started, the university operated from a rented building at Nayanmarmoola, and since 2012 it has been operating from its own campus at Periye, Kasaragod. The campus was developed on 310 acres of land allotted by the Government of Kerala. The total built-up area of the campus is 6,58,400 Sq Ft. The campus is equipped with several infrastructure facilities making it a self-contained campus. Students are given lectures in ICT enabled classrooms, and research facilities are updated timely. There is an ICT Wing set-up in the university to provide support for all technical requirements of the university. A Crèche was opened for the working or studying parents in the university.
