Kannada University was established in 1991 by the Government of Karnataka with an aim to explore the diverse culture and ethics of Karnataka and provide knowledge in Kannada. It is a State University approved by UGC.
Vision and Mission: Its aims is to become a premiere institute specialising in Karnataka Studies and is committed to promote multidisciplinary research on society, culture and economy in Kannada, study of linguistic practices in society, establish community and academic links, and develop methods to meet research practices of the community.
