BLDE University, Bijapur established in 2008 is a Deemed to be University, currently having 151-200 position in NIRF Ranking 2024. BLDE University Bijapur is approved by NMC (MCI), UGC, DSIR and MoE (MHRD), and is accredited by NAAC-A, NABH and NABL. Admission in BLDE University is offered in Science, Medical and Paramedical at UG/ PG/ Doctorate/ Certificate level with scholarship benefits to deserving students.
BLDE University comes under the category of the deemed university and it is situated in Bijapur now known as Vijayapura in Karnataka. And the university was established back in the year 2008. BLDE is ranked by ARIIA and is accredited with a grade point "A" by the NAAC. BLDE University is recognized by UGC and is ranked by NIRF. The university is pre-accredited by NABH and is recognized by DSIR (SIRO). The university is certified by NABL and National Neonatology Forum. Patil Medical College which was established back in the year 1986.
The BLDE University was established and is sponsored by the BLDE association which was itself established in 1910. The association is committed to imparting quality education to the students from primary to the very university levels. The association is mainly active in the northern regions of Karnataka which is considered as a backward region of the state. The association has numerous colleges, universities, and schools under its control. And they offer education in various disciplines. And BLDE University is mainly known for its education in the medical field in the country. The university offers various super specialty, and Ph.D., as well as, undergrad and postgrad, courses to students in the medical field. They even offer fellowships as well as Medical & Allied Health Sciences courses at the university. The students even get to choose from numerous certification courses at BLDE University for the duration of 6 months and 1 year.
The university offers an MBBS program for the undergrad students. In the postgrad program, students get to choose from MD, MS, and M.Sc. Medical. The students can even choose to do a 2-year diploma course in the medical stream after completing MBBS. For MD and MS courses the university offers more than 20 streams to choose from for the students. The university even offers M.Ch (Urology) and DM Cardiology as super specialty programs. The university offers more than 5 fellowship programs which can be opted for after the accomplishment of the PG program. BLDE University grants admission to all the UG and PG courses through the NEET examination only. The applicants can apply through online or offline processes at the university either by visiting the university or by visiting the website of the university.
For courses like Ph.D., Fellowship, Diploma, and Certificate courses, the applicants are selected on a merit basis through an entrance exam conducted by the university only.

An entrance test is conducted by BLDE University for Ph.D. admissions. The university offers Ph.D. programs in numerous streams to the students. Students can choose from streams like Anatomy, Pathology, Microbiology, Pediatrics, ENT, Radiology, Psychiatry, Dermatology, and many more to be named. The students can apply for Ph.D. programs at the university only once in a year in the June cycle every year.
For applying for the Ph.D. program at BLDE the applicant has to gain at least 55% marks in PG/ Diploma/ Higher specialty PG degree. And for applicants from the SC/ ST/ OBC/ Specially abled students the same is 45% only.

BLDE University offers various fee concessions to the students belonging to the rural areas of Karnataka, differently able students, female students, and SC/ ST category students. Fee concessions are also offered to the wards of ex-servicemen as well as orphan students.
The university even offers an option of paying the fee in installments to academically brilliant students. They are provided with a provision for the academic fee in 3 installments.

BLDE University placement cell works tirelessly to train its students. And develop appropriate skills in them which are needed for placement procedure. They concentrate on training their students to survive in the competitive world and gain their dream jobs. BLDE University has a world-class infrastructure for medical students. The university is easily reachable by train, air, as well as by road. They have an ATM as well as a post office at the campus of the university. The university organizes various workshops on surgery, anesthesiology, and basic life support training to prepare the students. And a branch of SBI is also situated inside the campus of the university.
The university has a separate canteen as well as a hostel mess for the students. And a cafeteria is also available at the campus for the students to relax between the gaps in their classes. There is a separate laundry and salon service at the university for both boys and girls staying on the campus. There is a separate indoor games room for the students at the university to provide relaxation from their studies. There are separate gyms for both genders at the university. Library: The 2400-square-foot university library is large enough for the students, and has complete air conditioning. More than 21k books are accessible at the library and 170+ journals with yearly subscriptions are available. The library can accommodate approximately 750 students at a time. The digital library provides access to the students to major e-books which are needed. Sports facility: The institute has separate sports facilities for both boys and girls in their hostels. They have separate courts for various outdoor games at the university premises. Outdoor sports like basketball, football, volleyball, cricket, kabaddi, throw ball, kho-kho, and many more are available at the university.
Skills laboratory: It is utilized for enabling students for learning basic as well as advanced skills to become trained healthcare professionals. And it is used to train students to deliver help effectively to patients. Here students learn the basic surgical skills on dummies.
Genetics Laboratory: At the genetics laboratory the students are educated about human genetics in detail. Here research is conducted and researchers are trained with the help of proper equipment.
Central Animal House: It is important for any medical college, as research is first conducted amongst animals before humans. The animal facilities are conducted as per the guidelines provided by the CPCSEA.
Teaching Hospital: The teaching hospital of the university has all the facilities like beds to admit patients, operation theaters, emergency OTs, and ICU. And all the other medical facilities like burn units, SICUs, ICCUs, PICUs, and RICUs are available. And the hospital also provides a wide range of specialty services to the patients which help the students to learn various skills.
Residential facilities: Here boys and girls are provided with a homely environment with caretakers and housekeepers always available just a call away. For security CCTV is installed at the hostels and students are provided with uninterrupted Wi-Fi connectivity. Washing machines, as well as laundry services, are available for the students at the hostel of BLDE University. Vending machines and incinerators are also installed in the girl's hostel for their convenience. Guest houses are also available at the university with all the facilities.
