The Department of Information Technology which was founded in 2006 commenced operations with a batch of 60 students. The department is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories having the latest software and also employs qualified and dedicated faculty members. The B. Tech (IT) course offered by DIT is a fulltime, on-campus program having an academic tenure of four years.
This undergraduate program in information technology enables students to develop a thorough understanding of IT and computers. The students also attend international and national conferences, competitive events, undertake field studies, and visit industries for learning how to apply their knowledge. The department organizes numerous symposiums, guest addresses, and FDP (Faculty Development Programs) that help students to complete the program effectively.
The industry-oriented course curriculum allows the students to pick up the nitty-gritty of devising, developing, executing, operating, and maintaining computer-based information systems. The learners also imbibe sound knowledge of the software and hardware aspects related with information technology. This undergraduate program is ideal for students who are passionate about
To qualify for this course, the applicant should have cleared the final 10+2/higher secondary examination, scoring at least 50% in aggregate. Mathematics, physics, and chemistry should have been the compulsory subjects in the high school.
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering started its journey with 60 students for the B.E. (CSE) program. Over the years, the department has been able to increase the intake to 120 students. The B.E. (CSE) program has a study period of four years and is a fulltime on-campus course.
The innovatively devised curriculum enables students to recognize, plan, and evaluate complicated CSE issues relating to theoretical computer science. The students acquire proficiency in developing practical solutions by making the most of the wisdom they gain by studying computer science and engineering, natural sciences, and mathematical principles.
The courseware lets them take advantage of their knowledge in information security, network & communication, software development, engineering and system fundamentals, and mathematics to solve intricate problems. The syllabus offers students with an overview of how to construct, design, maintain, and operate computer hardware and software. The basic eligibility criterions for this undergraduate program in CSE are the same as those of all other B. Tech and B. E. programs.
The Department of Chemical Engineering established in 2002 offers the B. Tech (chemical engineering) course. This fulltime undergraduate course runs for four years where every year comprises of two semesters. The undergraduate chemical engineering course offers good exposure to principles and concepts of chemistry.
The course curriculum establishes a link between the chemistry principles and engineering in order to help elucidate the challenges associated with manufacturing and using chemicals. Simply put the course content attempts to establish a correlation between science and its interface with engineering and manufacturing sectors. Students attend classroom lectures, conduct experiments in the lab, and complete projects and assignments.
The learners after completing the course develop a comprehensive understanding of the interplay between chemistry and engineering, in-depth knowledge of operation of chemical plants, and so on.
The Department of Civil Engineering, the first engineering department of Vel Tech High Tech to begin operations, signs up students for the M.E. (structural engineering) course. The M.E. (structural engineering) is fulltime postgraduate program with an academic duration of 2 years. The syllabus covers advanced structural engineering concepts that facilitate the students to pick up the basic principles of structural engineering and analysis.
The learners learn to integrate and implement the principles of structural engineering through myriad techniques and methods. They understand how to analyze and create different kinds of structures as well as learn to evaluate displacement and force yardsticks of these structures. The learners also develop a solid understanding of onshore and offshore infrastructure.
All those who have cleared B.E/ B. Tech/ B. Pharm/ MCA/ M. Sc (5 years integrated program) can apply to this course.
