Vel Tech Engineering College has a sprawling campus in Avadi neighborhood of Chennai, and attracts students from all over India. The expansive campus spread across an area of approximately 30 acres. One can easily reach the college campus from Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Chennai by road.
The Meenambakkam International Airport (Chennai) is situated not very far away and it takes about one hour to drive to the campus from the airport. Visitors can also access the campus by disembarking from the Avadi suburban station and driving for approximately 15 minutes. The vast and verdant campus houses the students’ hostels, departmental buildings, sports facilities, research centre, central library, laboratories, and departmental buildings.
The central library of the institution occupies a special pride of place in the college campus. The library serves as a genuine repository of knowledge, enabling students to boost their knowledge. Students have thorough access to the latest editions of textbooks, journals, and periodicals pertaining to engineering, basic sciences, humanities, biomedical, and technology.
The central library maintains a vast stock of educational resources comprising 80,386 tomes covering 19,906 titles. Vel Tech’s library is an associate member of British Library, American Library Council, and Anna University Library. The library offers NPTEL video courses and EDUSAT programs in various academic streams that benefit students enrolled in distance-learning and online programs. Besides the central library, every department has its distinct library complete with referenced collection.
