AP Goyal Shimla University Hostel Fees: Rooms, Food & Rules, Shimla

The university has both boys and girls hostels inside the campus. Being a localite, I couldn’t qualify for staying at the hostel but outsiders used to stay there. The problem is that college is quite far from the main city and if by chance we missed the university bus, we had to travel two miles walking as the nearest bus stop was that far. Hostel facility is available, but I am native of Shimla so this facility was not required. Some of my close friends were hostlers so few times I visited their hostel. Rooms were spacious and girls/ boys hostel are separate. I have no idea about the hostel fee, but my friends said it is nothing different from other colleges. Food quality was average as many times I had lunch with my friends in the hostel. Security is over the top in girl’s hostel.Read Full Review

I had never been to the hostel. But I heard from my friends that the hostel life was good and they experienced a lot of things while staying in the hostel. There were more than 50 rooms in the hostel premises and every room accommodated 2 students at that time. Of course, girls and boys have a separate hostel with various amenities like laundry room, TV, study tables, etc. The fee structure for hostel accommodations in those years were 70-80k per annum. Talking about the food, there were different cuisines provided to students coming from different areas of the world. The management performs regular inspections to maintain the quality of the food. All students feel safe and secure like their homes in a hostel under the supervision of wardens.Read Full Review
