National Brain Research Centre, Gurgaon established in 1997 is a Deemed University. National Brain Research Centre Gurgaon is approved by UGC. Admission in National Brain Research Centre is offered in Science at PG/ Doctorate level.
National Brain Research Centre (NBRC) is a university dedicated to research in the cutting edge areas of neuroscience and brain function in health and disease. The creation of the National Brain Research Centre is a part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of India’s Independence on 14th November, 1997. The university is accredited by NAAC and is an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India.
Mission: The research center was established with an aim to pursue research to understand the functions of the brain in health and diseases. It directs its efforts to promote neuroscience in India and generate trained human resources having capability to carry out interdisciplinary research through networking among institutions.
Vision: The University’s vision is to emerge as a world class institute for brain research by creating a vibrant neuroscience community through the overall growth of this discipline in the country. The institute's vision is to support Indian neuroscientists to take part in global research and achieve international leadership in the field. It also connects other centers for carrying out neuroscience research.
NBRC offers Ph.D. and M.Sc. courses in neuroscience to students from diverse academic backgrounds.
Candidates interested in taking admission to NBRC can apply both online and offline. To apply online they must adhere to the directions on the official website of the university and to apply offline they must obtain an application form, from NRBC Registrar. However before applying students first make sure that they are fulfilling the eligibility requirements for the courses they want to pursue. *Foreign students seeking admission to the university must satisfy all the above conditions and additionally the conditions as per Government of India.
Admissions at NBRC are also done on the basis of the students’ performance in the entrance exam. Candidates seeking admission for the M.Sc. programs are selected through Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JGEEBILS) followed by an interview. While for Ph.D. programs candidates must qualify in any of the following entrance examinations.
