Yogi Vemana University was formed in 2006 by an Act of Andhra Pradesh State Legislature with an objective of staying committed in delivering healthy academic standards and contribute in the development of society with moral and ethical values. The university is UGC and AICTE-approved and accredited by NAAC.

The campus of the university is located at Vemanapuram Kadapa, about 15 km away from the main Kadapa city and is spread on an area of 652 acres.
