KL University (also known as Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation) [KLU Guntur] established in 1980 is a Deemed to be University, currently having 40th position in NIRF Ranking 2024 and 651-700 score out of 760 in QS Asia 2023. KLU Guntur is approved by AICTE, UGC, PCI, BCI, COA and CII, and is accredited by NAAC-A++. Admission in KLU Guntur is offered in Engineering, Management and Humanities at UG/ PG/ Doctorate/ Certificate level with scholarship benefits to deserving students.
KL University was first established as KL College of Engineering in 1980–1981 and later upgraded to KL College of Engineering (Autonomous) by the UGC in 2006 before being designated as a Deemed to be University in 2009. KL was given an A++ grade by NAAC for its 2018 reaccreditation. This institution was classified as a Category I Institution in 2019 by UGC. It is an ISO certified institution and approved by AICTE New Delhi. PCI has authorised Pharmacy College, CoA has given its approval to School of Architecture and BCI has granted approval to Law College. CII and ASSOCHAM both recognise the Institute as a member.

KL University has carefully made plans to find employment for all of the qualified and motivated students. It hired qualified teachers, created and delivered programs that assist in strengthening the soft skills like communication, public speaking that are necessary for making students productive. The University has been successful over the years in placing all enrolled and qualified students through its offices spread around the country. During this placement period, the average pay was Rs. 9.79 LPA, with a CSE student receiving the highest salary of 55.6 LPA. Library: The KL College of Engineering served as the Central Library's initial home. The new structure is designed as a greenhouse, and the library is lit naturally by the sun. More than 190K books and 32K non-book items, including reputable databases, are added to the Library's extensive collection of materials. It contains resources for the engineering, science, and humanities courses, as well as books and periodicals on a variety of topics, including agricultural science, pharmacy and law. Modern amenities and a brand-new structure have been constructed to international standards. To provide library users with a comfortable reading and learning experience, the library has central air conditioning.
Sports: KL gives students access to world-class sporting and recreational facilities, encouraging them to uncover their hidden skills. Coaches provide personal training on an individual basis, and this might drive people to pursue their fitness goals. The arena features Wi-Fi, first-rate indoor and outdoor amenities, locker rooms for men and women and boys' and girls' changing areas. Hostels: Separate dormitories with well-furnished rooms and contemporary amenities are available for males and females at the campus. Transport: The institution operates 84 non-air-conditioned buses and 2 air-conditioned buses with a combined seating capacity of 4400 students in two shifts, serving all the key locations. In the event of an emergency, the institute and hostels offer a 24-hour ambulance service. Transportation is offered for performing special tours, excursions, and workshops, among other activities.
Cafeteria: It offers a large canteen with modern amenities and a pleasant atmosphere that serves quality meals quickly and meets the demands of all the students and employees. On campus, there is a 1500 square meter cafeteria and variety of blocks has small cafes and fast-food restaurants. From 6:30 in the morning to 8:30 in the evening, the cafeteria is accessible and the students enjoy the feeling of dining during the intervals and have access to a wide range of north and south Indian food. There is cool aqua water accessible for drinking.
Other amenities: The campus has a 4500-seat outdoor auditorium that it uses for a variety of cultural events all year long. To serve the requirements of the people of the adopted villages, including students, employees, and teachers, a health centre with all the necessary amenities is created. The Institute's NSS Wing organises blood donation camps, fund collection and distribution to underprivileged children, distribution of used clothing and free medications to slum dwellers, AIDS awareness programmes, and basic computer skills instruction to people in villages on a regular basis. The campus is home to a variety of student organisations and clubs, including the music society, drama society, literary and debating club, painting club, computer club, and others. Koneru Laksmaiah University better known as KL University started its journey as KL College of Engineering from the academic year 1980-81. The establishment of Koneru Laksmaiah Charities as a trust in 1980 paved the way for laying the foundations of KLU. Koneru Laksmaiah Charities was rechristened KLEF (Koneru Laksmaiah Education Foundation) after the trust became a society.
It was in 2006 that KL College of Engineering achieved autonomous status and the college attained ‘Deemed to be University’ status in 2009. Since its inception, KLU University has entrenched its position as one of the premier engineering schools in South India. The university houses eight distinct schools of studies and four separate academic departments within its expansive 100-acre campus in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.
Some of the schools of study include the K L College of Engineering, K L College of Law, and K L College of Science and Humanities. The academia has the approvals of UGC, AICTE, PCI (Pharmacy Council of India), BCI (Bar Council of India), and CoA (Council of Architecture).
