National Sanskrit University (formerly known as Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth), Tirupati established in 1961 is a Central University, currently having 101-150 position in NIRF Ranking 2020. In 1961, National Sanskrit University formerly known as Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth was founded in Tirupati. It is a Central University situated in Andhra Pradesh that is approved by UGC.
Its vision is to improve and strengthen the quality of teaching process of Sanskrit by implementing advanced research methodologies. Its mission is to develop a platform for interaction between Scientists and traditional Sanskrit Scholars.

Candidates seeking admission to the courses offered by National Sanskrit University have to meet the Eligibility Criteria set by it. They can download the Application Form and Prospectus from the official website. They can fill up their details in the form through online mode. They must upload all the necessary documents along with the form in the prescribed format. Candidates must ensure that they have provided the correct Email ID and Contact Number as the same will be used for further communication. Candidates will be given admission based on the rules, eligibility, merit, and other parameters as determined by the authorities after the interview. After verifying the submitted documents, the university will finalise the admission of the candidate.

The University offers Scholarship based on the marks obtained by the students in the previously qualified examination. Students get scholarship for around 10 months in a year. They must have approximately 75% attendance in every class in a month to become eligible for the scholarship.

National Sanskrit University has Learning Centres for its students within the campus.
