HPU, Shimla understands the importance of placement in the student’s final year and to fulfill this, the university has established a Placement Cell. This cell works on providing a platform to the students where they can come in direct contact with industry officials and experts. The university maintains professional and healthy relations with key recruiting companies and organisations. The cell trains and guides the students throughout their academic career and prepares them for the interview round by organising pre-placement talks like mock interviews, GD, and aptitude tests. The cell works towards enhancing the major skills of the students that recruiting companies look for like communication skills, presentation skills, management skills, interpersonal skills, technical skills, research skills, and soft skills. In addition, the university also works on developing the overall personality of the students.

The cell starts working on its students from the very first year of academics and trains them from the start. To provide the students with an insight into the corporate world, the cell offers various internship programs to the students.

Some companies and organisations where the students of HPU are placed are Tata, Ford, Wipro, Google, Apple, HCL, Accenture, TBI, Color of India, etc.

Located at Summer Hill, Shimla, the university offers an excellent campus and infrastructure to the students. The university is built on an area of 241.11 bighas and it offers a positive and friendly environment to the students. The infrastructure of the university is modern and meets the social and academic needs of HPU. The university has well-built and furnished classrooms, seminar halls, Wi-Fi enabled campus, a well-furnished computer lab, and various other facilities and amenities like:

• Library: HPU has a well-stocked and resourceful library built in a multi-storied building. This is the biggest library in the state and is divided into three floors. The library is very spacious and offers a range of Books, National & International Journals, Periodicals, References, Theses, Dissertations, Daily Newspapers, Magazines, etc. covering all the disciplines. The library has at least two reading rooms on each floor with comfortable seating areas and lights. A digital section of the library is also present here with a smooth internet connection and various online databases. Apart from this, the university also provides other academic facilities like photocopying and printing.
• Hostel: The University provides excellent accommodation facilities to the students staying away from home. HPU has maintained a total of 13 hostels, accommodating 900+ girls and 500+ boys. The rooms of the hostels are well-furnished, spacious, ventilated, and well-lit. Regular cleaning is being done in the rooms and wardens are present on the campus of the hostel to provide assistance and help to the students. 24x7 CCTV surveillance and security guards are also present in the hostel to safeguard the students. The hostel also has mess facilities that provides delicious and homely meals to the hostellers cooked in a hygienic and clean kitchen. For the entertainment of the students, the hostel has a TV room, internet services, indoor games, a seating area, etc.
• Auditorium: The University has a well-built and modern auditorium. This space is being used to organise various seminars, annual functions, award shows, etc. and it has a seating capacity of 750+ people.
• Health Facilities: To provide excellent health facilities to the students, the university has established a Health Centre. This centre is equipped with modern tools and offers primary health services to students. Experienced doctors and nurses are present in the centre to treat the students. Two to three ambulances are also present on the campus to take care of the medical emergencies.
• Other Facilities: Sports, Bank, ATM, Shops, Cyber Café, Transportation Facilities, etc.
