FOE offers a fulltime on-campus integrated B.A. –B. Ed program that has the NCTE’s approval. The curriculum of this undergraduate course is spread over a period of four years. Students after completing this program, receive dual degrees-‘Bachelor of Arts’ and ‘Bachelor of Education’.
To qualify for this course, the applicant has to clear the 10+2/Intermediate examination of any central or state education board. Students from any academic stream (arts, science or commerce) can send in their application for the B. A. –B. Ed course. However, the candidate has to secure at least 50% marks in aggregate in the final qualifying exam to secure admission.
The B.Sc. –B. Ed course, like the above program, has a 4-year study period and is a fulltime on-campus program. The minimum qualifying criterion for this course is a pass in the 10+ 2 examinations conducted by an approved state or central education board. However, only students from the science stream (with either PCB or PCM as a subject combination) can apply to this undergraduate course.
Nevertheless, in order to boost up chances of securing a seat in the program, the student has to achieve a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
The B. Ed program offered by the Faculty of Education is one of the most popular teacher education courses of the institution. The curriculum of the Bachelor of Education course runs for two years, at the end of which students receive the B. Ed degree. The main objective of the program is to prepare students for teaching in secondary and higher secondary schools in India.
The program lays emphasis on methodology and principles of teaching and education. This undergraduate course enables students to critically analyze a constructive learning environment and realize how such an environment influences education. After completing this program, students acquire the ability to support environments which further emotional and social erudition besides curricular activities.
A student who wishes to apply to this program must clear the 10 +2 examination (any stream) of recognized education board. He or she should also attain at least 50% marks in the final examination.
The curriculum of the 2-year Master of Education program offers students advanced knowledge on the subjects they studied in B. Ed. In order to qualify for the M. Ed course, the applicant should possess a B. Ed certification, having achieved at least 50% in aggregate.
